Major housing development planned at former 3M factory in Gorseinon

More than 1,000 people worked there at one time11:56, 15 Aug 2026Hundreds of homes have been proposed at a large factory in Swansea which was put up for sale four years ago.‌The 3M site between Gorseinon and Penllergaer provided jobs for decades and could make way for a new development of up to 400 homes on tree-lined streets, a community hub, workshops and open spaces.‌Engineering and development company Walters is seeking pre-application advice from Swansea Council.
