Magyar urges unity after vote to oust Orban ally
Bloomberg Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar yesterday moved to unite Hungary a day after his lawmakers voted to oust President Tamas Sulyok, an ally of former Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban, a milestone just three months after watershed elections that ended 16 years of nationalist rule.Magyar was back in parliament yesterday, calling on Orban’s opposition party, which boycotted Monday’s vote to unseat Sulyok, to play a constructive role in rebuilding the rule of law and democracy and in bringing Hungary back to the European mainstream.
