M6 traffic stopped for police incident near Wigan

All vehicles were held this morning (September 5) on the southbound carriageway.The incident was between junctions 28 at Leyland and 27 at Standish. Traffic has since been released and the incident has been cleared, with the M6 fully open in the area.An earlier post from the Inrix traffic monitoring service said: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to police incident on M6 Southbound from J28 B5256 Leyland Way (Leyland) to J27 A5209 Crow Orchard Road (Standish)."This is a live event.
