The pub will open its doors on Tuesday, July 2110:38, 07 Jul 2026A pub promises to be your “new local” when it reopens this month after a major refurbishment. Building work started on The Royal Oak, in Aughton, Ormskirk, on Monday, April 13, with it being transformed to the tune of £677,000.The investment has allowed the Royal Oak, run by Dean Jones and James Nolan, to enlarge and position itself as a “top-quality family and dog-friendly traditional village inn offering great quality pub food”. It will reopen on Tuesday, July 21, with 20 new jobs created.James and Dean both have hospitality experience, including running popular community-focused pubs. James has the Deysbrook pub and Amici restaurant in Liverpool, and Dean has The Lingmell Inn in Liverpool. Together they run The Black Bul
