Liverpool maths teacher exchanged 'inappropriate' and 'excessive' emails with students

Jamil Wali exchanged a total of 204 emails with a pupil16:16, 29 Aug 2026A maths teacher at a Liverpool high school was found to have exchanged "inappropriate" and "excessive" emails with a pupil at the school.‌Jamil Wali was formerly employed at King’s Leadership Academy, Liverpool, which is a secondary school and sixth form, as a mathematics teacher.‌The incidents occurred between January and March 2024, where it was alleged that Mr Wali did not maintain appropriate professional boundaries.‌Click here to get the biggest stories straight to your inbox in our Daily NewsletterThis included allegedly exchanging emails with a pupil that were inappropriate or of a personal nature, were excessive, and were sent outside of the Academy's working hours.Mr Wali, who began teaching maths at King's L
