The company, the UK's largest pub operator, owns thousands of venues nationwide, including a number of pubs and bars across Liverpool.‌The brand is behind the region’s Popworld, Slug & Lettuce, Be At One, The Brookhouse, Blob Shop, and The Royal Oak, to name a few. However, it is Yates, found in Queen Square, that has closed for a refurbishment. Founded in 1884, Yates has become a familiar name on the British high street, known for its welcoming pubs and value-for-money dining.‌The Liverpool venue has left a note on the door for costumes. It reads: “Temporarily closed. Closed for a refurbishment. We are busy making some exciting improvements.”‌The
