The supermarket chain’s St Johns Shopping Centre store has apologised in advance to customers as the store prepares to shut for a “freshening up”.‌A banner outside the Liverpool city centre informs customers the store will be “closed for a few days”. The shop will shut from 10pm today, Wednesday, August 26 until Friday, September 4 at 8am.‌An Aldi spokesperson said: “When we reopen on Friday September 4, shoppers will see a number of upgrades - including a new layout and upgraded shelves, as well as eco-friendly fridges to reduce our carbon footprint.
