LETTER: Nevada sues over water cuts
John Currell Henderson August 30, 2026 - 9:00 pm In response to your Tuesday story about Nevada suing over Colorado River cuts: Projecting Colorado River flow over the next 10 years and water levels in Lake Mead is beyond even a Supreme Court decision. A lawsuit is just a waste of ratepayers money with respect to even the best possible outcome. Given that Arizona, California and Nevada have agreed to cuts in 2027 and 2028, there is no urgency to run up our legal bills until at least next year. We must accept that the seven states cannot agree and the river cannot provide enough water to meet everyone’s wishes.
