Lecture on optimisation, sustainable engineering held

A technical lecture on Optimisation and Multi-Objective Optimisation was held at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Andhra University College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam, on Thursday.G.P. Pandu Rangaiah, Professor Emeritus at the National University of Singapore and an alumnus of Andhra University, delivered the lecture. He explained the fundamentals of optimisation, including mathematical modelling, objective functions and optimal design, and outlined applications in aerospace, control systems, product design, data analysis and supply chains. He also discussed multi-objective optimisation, pareto-optimal solutions and trade-offs involving cost, time and CO₂ emissions.
