Postern Gate venue on St Austins Lane issued a "heartbreaking" statement declaring it was the end of the pub "as we've all come to know it".Owners Lee Watkinson and Mike Hinton acquired the pub in July 2024 with the intention of making it a community hub and place for guests to access free legal and mental health. The pair gave the venue a refurbishment along with a new sound system.A recent update from Postern Gate announced the pub would close its doors after the England vs Mexico World Cup game finished. The owners said the decision was "simply out of [our] control"
