Kremlin Removes Even Weak Opposition as Ukraine War Takes Toll

Yabloko’s removal from Russia’s parliamentary ballot comes as even state-linked pollsters record falling support for Vladimir Putin and the war in Ukraine. Yet the party’s history, internal divisions and some of its leaders’ statements about Ukraine illustrate why opposing Putin does not automatically make someone a reliable ally of Ukraine.
