KIMS doctors perform robotic-assisted mitral valve replacement on 37-year-old man in Hyderabad

KIMS Hospital, Hyderabad, has performed a robotic-assisted mitral valve replacement on a 37-year-old man from Rajahmundry who was suffering from severe mitral stenosis caused by chronic rheumatic heart disease.Mitral stenosis is a condition in which the mitral valve, located between the left atrium and left ventricle of the heart, becomes narrowed, restricting the flow of blood between the two chambers. In this case, the narrowing was attributed to chronic rheumatic heart disease.
