Kerala govt. to allocate ₹5 crore to revive Travancore Cements

Travancore Cements Limited (TCL), the cash-strapped Kerala government-owned public sector undertaking, has received a fresh lifeline with the United Democratic Front (UDF) government deciding to sanction ₹5 crore to revive the unit.The decision was taken at a meeting convened in the chamber of Assembly Speaker Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan the other day. Industries Minister P. K. Kunhalikutty, senior government officials and company representatives attended the meeting, which explored ways to resume the company’s operations.According to TCL officials, the funds will primarily be used to restart the production of white cement, which has remained suspended for nearly three months due to disruptions in clinker imports following the conflict in West Asia and concerns over shipping through the St
