Kerala government sanctions ₹30 crore for settling post-matric scholarship dues

The State government has sanctioned ₹30 crore more for fully settling the arrears in the scholarship amounts due to students from backward communities, Minister for the Development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes K.A. Thulasi has said.The amount was sanctioned towards settling the arrears in post-matric scholarships of students from OBC, OEC categories, a statement said. With this allocation, the State government has paid up in full the arrears due to these students, the Minister said.The dues had mounted to ₹310 crore. Steps will be taken to deposit the amount into the bank accounts of the students, Ms. Thulasi said. Published - August 12, 2026 11:30 pm IST
