Judicial Yuan to set up call center for public inquiries

By Sam Garcia / Staff writer, with CNA Add TT as Preferred Source The Judicial Yuan plans to establish a nationwide call center to ease the workload on clerks, with a trial of the system expected in December and an official launch in January next year, Judicial Yuan Secretary-General Kao Chin-chih (高金枝) said yesterday.As one of court clerks’ biggest burdens is handling lots of calls from the public, the Judicial Yuan said it plans to establish a nationwide call center with dedicated staff to respond to people’s inquiries.The goal is to reduce their workload so that they can focus on supporting court proceedings, while improving the efficiency of responses to calls by centralizing routine inquiries, it said.
