Jide Kosoko announces Ogogo’s burial date as fans, colleagues mourn

Veteran actor Jide Kosoko has announced that the remains of his colleague, Taiwo “Ogogo” Hassan, will be buried in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday. PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that Kira, Ogogo’s daughter, announced her father’s death at age 66 during an Instagram Live session on Sunday after he battled stage-four cancer. Another colleague, Saidi Balogun, also confirmed the actor’s death in an Instagram post. In a statement posted on his Instagram page on Sunday, Kosoko said Ogogo’s remains will be taken to Ilaro on Sunday ahead of a special prayer session scheduled to hold at the Ilaro Pavilion at 11 a.m. on Monday. “With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, who passed away at 3:00 p.m. today, Sunday, 23rd August 2026.
