Jets could benefit from prediction and reunite with former QB who won a Super Bowl

The New York Jets have continued to show they don't know what they're doing at quarterback. While there's a hope and expectation that Geno Smith will be the guy in New York, there's certainly no guarantee that he's going to be that. Smith hasn't looked great in some practices, and he's also been dealing with a small injury. Right now, the Jets can only hope he plays at the level he did with the Seattle Seahawks a few years ago.At the same time, even if Smith does play well, he isn't exactly a guaranteed future quarterback. He's getting up there in age, so if he has another year or two left, that would be more than the Jets are probably even looking for. New York will be searching for a long-term option, and it might find one in a former quarterback they thought would be that guy years ago.
