Jed York’s $140 prostitution arrest comes after $8.5 billion record-breaking valuation of 49ers

There’s a lot at stake for 49ers owner Jed York. In May 2025, York sold a 6% minority stake of the 49ers at a record sports team valuation. The 49ers’ sale allowed York to retain control of the team while also increasing the organization’s value to more than $8.5 billion. The 46-year-old allegedly tried to pay a woman $140 for sex over the weekend at a trailer park in East Palestine, Ohio. He went to a meeting location after responding to an ad on a known prostitution website where he was taken into custo
