Jayachandra to take charge as pro-tem Speaker today

Jayachandra, who was upset at not being included in the Cabinet, the legislator from Sira has agreed to be the pro-tem Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.He is set to take charge on Monday and will remain in the post till the new Speaker is elected during the Monsoon Session starting from August 13.He met Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot over a courtesy visit on Sunday.The Congress has named its legislators G.S. Patil and A.S. Ponnanna for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.Earlier, miffed at being ignored for a Cabinet berth, he had said that he would not take charge as pro-tem Speaker.
