Jannik Sinner defeats Alexander Zverev to win second straight Wimbledon title
Make it back to back for Jannik Sinner. The top-seeded 24-year-old Italian captured his second straight Wimbledon title Sunday afternoon, defeating No. 2 Alexander Zverev 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (7-2), 6-3, 6-4 in a nearly four-hour duel on Centre Court at the All England Club. The win gives Sinner five grand slam victories. Jannik Sinner reacts during the Wimbledon final against Alexander Zverev on July 12, 2026. Sinner was ousted in the semifinals at this year’s Australian Open and fell in the second round at the French Open, his earliest exit at a grand slam in three years.
