Istat confirms estimates, GDP up 0.2% in the second quarter
In the second quarter of 2026, gross domestic product, expressed in chained values with a reference year of 2020, adjusted for calendar effects and seasonally, increased by 0.2% compared to the previous quarter and by 1.0% compared to the second quarter of 2025, Istat said Tuesday. The 'acquired' change for 2026, net of calendar effects, is also confirmed at 0.8%, the stats agency said. In releasing its quarterly economic accounts estimates, Istat explains that the second quarter of 2026 had the same number of working days as the previous quarter and one more working day than the second quarter of 2025.
