Hind and her family had just left their home in Gaza City on January 28, 2024, after seeing a post from the Israeli Defence Forces asking residents in the west of Gaza City to evacuate. Along with her four cousins, aunt and uncle, the group packed into the car and began driving towards their family in northern Gaza City, rather than staying in the Tel al-Hawa neighbourhood.
