Ireland women's double sculls win heat at World Rowing Championships

IRISH WOMEN’S DOUBLE sculls duo Zoe Hyde and Mags Cremen have won their heat at the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam. Hyde and Cremens dominated their heat to progress with a time of 7:46.73. Ukraine and China finished second and third respectively, the former some way off their Irish counterparts in 7:51.07 in a five-way race. Lithuania (7:38.67), Great Britain (7:40.42) and Netherlands (7:43.33) won the other heats, with Hyde and Cremens qualifying for the semi-finals as the seventh-fastest crew overall.
