This summer’s jobs reports have mostly been clunkers, but this morning we got a more encouraging one. The U.S. economy added 162,000 jobs in August, while unemployment held steady at 4.1 percent and the labor force participation rate—which had sunk throughout the year—ticked back up a hair.
