Intruder scrawls racist message inside Brighton Park home; cops investigate as possible hate crime

Police are investigating a hate crime after someone broke into a Brighton Park neighborhood home and vandalized it Monday on the Southwest Side. The owner called officers after arriving at his home that is being renovated around 9 a.m. in the 3100 block of West Pershing Street and finding a racist comment graffitied into the building, according to a police report obtained by the Sun-Times.
