Inside the floating museum docked in Liverpool for European tour

A replica of the historic Nao Santa María ship has docked at the Royal Albert Dock. The vessel, which is a replica of Christopher Columbus' flagship, is visiting the city as part of an international historical outreach tour. The Spanish Nao Santa Maria was constructed by the Nao Victoria Foundation in Punta Umbría (Huelva, Spain), with funding from the Huelva Provincial Council and the Cajasol Foundation. Construction took 14 months, starting in January 2017 and completing in March 2018. This visit marks a significant stop in its extensive 2026 European tour, which includes stops in dozens of cities where it opens its decks to the public.
