In Senegal's Saint-Louis, traces of slave-trading past are being erased

The first French trading post in sub-Saharan Africa was established in Senegal's Saint-Louis in 1659 and the island soon became a holding point for thousands of captive Africans before they were shipped abroad. But Saint-Louis' role in the transatlantic slave trade is little known.
