Images show devastating aftermath of Bury New Road fire as police descend

Firefighters have begun a second day at the scene of a huge warehouse fire in Salford. The Marc Darcy suits showroom, on Bury New Road, has been destroyed by a blaze that broke out at 1.40am on Thursday morning (August 6). Neighbouring residents described hearing 'two loud bangs' before flames began to soar. Eight fire engines descended on the scene alongside specialist resources, with the building 'well alight' by the time crews arrived. Devastating video footage showed huge flames erupting from the site in the early hours of Thursday morning. Firefighters could be seen damping down the site later in the day.
