ICE Plans To Spend Up To $20 Million Dollars On Taser Gloves

August 12, 2026 2:42 PM ET Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) plans to spend up to $20 million to purchase electric shock gloves for law enforcement officers and agents, according to an upcoming contract.The listing was shared on the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Acquisition Planning Forecast System Monday and shows that ICE has been required to purchase CTG-5 Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter, or G.L.O.V.E., which was described as a “Conductive Distraction and De-escalation Device.”The proposal estimates that the cost could range from $10 million to $20 million and that the devices will be issued to both Homeland Security Investigations and Enforcement and Removal Operations.
