"I'm devastated but I can't do anything about it"17:49, 07 Jul 2026Updated 17:49, 07 Jul 2026An NHS Trust will not be prosecuted following an investigation by police into the death of a teenager, the Manchester Evening News understands.Nevaeh Owen passed away in March 2024 aged 18 after she used a ligature at a Greater Manchester mental health unit. At the time, she was under the care of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust at Oak Ward at Royal Bolton Hospital.Greater Manchester Police detectives began investigating in early 2025 to establish if the incident should be treated as a homicide case, and if offences of corporate manslaughter or gross negligence manslaughter may have been committed.Click here to get the biggest stories straight to your inbox in our Daily News
