'Hoping it makes a difference' - Glasgow pub raises nearly £6k for charity

A pub in Glasgow has raised almost £5800 for charity. Elder's Bar in Tollcross hosted a charity pub night last weekend to raise money for Marie Curie and Beatson Cancer Charity. The night was put on by owners Mary McName and Robert McIntyer, drawing from their own experiences with friends, family and regulars having or passing away from cancer. The local community came together to support the event. Many local shop owners donated vouchers and prizes. Those who attended the night managed to raise almost £4000 between ticket sales, raffles and prize drawing games. The pub itself donated £2000 from the night’s takings. Mary said: “It was fantastic.
