The letter in question is the P800 tax calculation, which gives people an overview of the error in tax calculation and how to sort it out in the easiest possible way.‌The P800 letters are sent out to those who have either overpaid or underpaid tax, It is said that these payments can average £473. Those who receive the letter can fix the tax mistake by either settling the tax bill, or claiming the overpaid tax back from HMRC.‌The gov.uk website says that you can claim a refund through your personal tax account,
