The charge applies if either you or your partner have a taxable income of over £60,000 as individuals.Your joint income is irrelevant – a couple where both are earning £59,000 are not affected by the charge. It doesn't matter whether it is you or your partner who claims Child Benefit.The charge also applies whether or not the children in your household are biologically related to you.
