High-Power Committee proposed to address tribal issues in ASR district

The Alluri Sitarama Raju district administration on Monday initiated the process of nominating representatives from tribal organisations to a proposed High-Power Committee that the State government has decided to constitute on tribal issues.At a district-level meeting held at the Collectorate, representatives of tribal organisations proposed the names of retired IAS officer Baburao Naidu and legal adviser Kobba Srinivas for inclusion in the committee. District Collector T. Nishanthi asked the representatives to arrive at a consensus and submit the names of the remaining three nominees by Tuesday.The proposed committee follows a decision taken at an earlier meeting chaired by Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha and Tribal Welfare Minister Gummadi Sandhya Rani.
