Heywood residents left suffering vile stench and floors covered in faeces
One resident said: "We feel like we are being ignored."19:22, 07 Jul 2026Residents were left with a vile stench and faeces on the floors for days after drainage problems said to be caused by nappies and baby wipes.‌The building, on Rochdale Road East, Heywood, which was developed by First Choice Homes Oldham, was left with leaks in the underground car park and the communal bin shed.‌Those living in the building, containing 40 apartments, have reported a stench of 'rotten egg' and faeces on the floor. They said that despite numerous calls to the housing association, nothing has been done to address the issue.‌First Choice Homes says the issue has been resolved today (Monday, July 7) after first being reported on Friday, July 3.
