Hegseth’s statement comes after Washington imposed “unprecedented” sanctions on Iran this week. In an interview on US cable channel Newsmax, Hegseth said “economic pressure we know hurts them the most right now, but by no means are we foreclosing using kinetic strikes anywhere in the Strait of Hormuz”.
