A well know Belfast Bar owner has passed away.City Picnic, located on Castle Street in Belfast City Centre, announced the death of Arthur McAnerney on Wednesday evening.He has been described as a devoted father, and a friend to many. Posting to social media, City Picnic said: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur McAnerney, owner of City Picnic, on 12th August 2026.“Arthur was a much-loved husband, devoted father to seven wonderful children, and a cherished son, brother, family member and friend to so many.“He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.” Funeral arrangements will follow.May he rest in peace.”The post has been flooded with comments, of people paying tribute to Mr McAnerney, sharing memories and offering condolences.
