GRP, RPF seize 16.92 kg marijuana at Hyderabad railway station, one held
HYDERABADThe Government Railway Police (GRP), Hyderabad, and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested a 20-year-old inter-State drug courier and seized 16.92 kg of marijuana worth an estimated ₹8.46 lakh at Hyderabad railway station on Tuesday.The accused, identified as Akash Singh, a native of Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh, was apprehended during a joint checking drive near the entrance to platform no. 4. Another suspect accompanying him managed to escape.During interrogation, Akash allegedly told the police that he had agreed to transport marijuana from Visakhapatnam to New Delhi for ₹15,000 per trip at the behest of a man identified as Jafar.
