Greenpeace calls for review of energy bill

By Esme Yeh / Staff reporter Add TT as Preferred Source Greenpeace Taiwan yesterday called for draft amendments to the Energy Administration Act (能源管理法) to be sent back to a legislative committee for review, and for new amendments that would include all of the more than 400 heavy electricity users under regulation.The legislature’s Economics Committee on Wednesday last week passed the draft bill, which critics said falls short of expectations.The Cabinet’s version would require energy users who have entered an electricity contract, with their contract capacity reaching a certain level, to install self-use power generation equipment and energy storage equipment.
