Green groups to Marcos: Waste-to-energy no fix for flooding
MANILA, Philippines — Environmental and community groups are questioning President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s renewed push for waste-to-energy (WTE) incineration as part of the government’s response to Metro Manila’s garbage and flooding problems. They said the administration should address failures in waste management and flood-control infrastructure rather than present waste burning as a solution to flooding.
