Girl, 6, dies and another child injured in crash involving a car and a lorry

A tragedy struck on the A12 near Colchester yesterday when a car crashed with a lorry on the northbound carriageway. The road was closed for hours as the emergency services tried to save the girl following the smash at about 10.30am. She was treated at the scene, but succumbed to her injuries at the scene. A second child suffered a leg injury and was taken to a hospital.
