Giants cut Juju Smith-Schuster as fight for wide receiver spot intensifies

One former Steeler in the door, while another departs. The Giants signed running back Najee Harris on Tuesday and opted to release Juju Smith-Schuster in a corresponding move, The Post’s Ryan Dunleavy confirmed. Smith-Schuster was expected to compete for one of the depth roles at wide receiver for Big Blue, and now hits the open market where he hopes to latch onto a new team. His release could be a boon to Odell Beckham Jr.’s prospects of making the Giants, considering he was part of the competition for one of the team’s final receiver spots.
