Germany Unveils Anti-Sabotage Plan After Leipzig Airport Attack

Germany is preparing an expansive security package to defend against Russian hybrid warfare and sabotage following the Aug. 4 drone incident at Leipzig/Halle Airport. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt outlined plans to establish mobile Federal Police anti-drone units across nine major cities, grant critical infrastructure operators legal powers to down unauthorized drones, deploy AI-driven biometric surveillance at transport hubs, and construct a national “Cyberdome” against cyberattacks.
