German Football Association's rules on agents are not anti-competitive if in public interest, EU court says

June 28, 2018/ REUTERS/Thorsten Wagner 09 Jul 2026 04:33PM BRUSSELS, July 9 : The German Football Association's rules governing the activities of football players' agents do not breach EU antitrust rules if such restrictions serve the public interest, Europe's top court said on Thursday.The rules, "may prove to be necessary in order to pursue one or more legitimate objectives in the public interest which are not, in themselves, anti-competitive," the Luxembourg-based Court of Justice of the European Union said.
