FSSAI makes U-turn, revokes order against Enrica products

On Thursday, the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (Tasmac) issued a notice across its network of shops, directing them to stop the sale of 11 liquor variants manufactured by Enrica Enterprises Pvt. Ltd following an FSSAI inspection that flagged the presence of natural identical and artificial flavouring substances in the products.However, the very next day, on Friday, a notice issued by R. Gajalakshmi, Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise, stated that the earlier order had been revoked.A senior official from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) said the company had appealed against the prohibition order and assured the authorities that it would comply with the rules.
