Fruit diplomacy: Tripura CM sends 780kg pineapples to Tarique Rahman

Tripura Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha has sent 780kg of Kew pineapples as a goodwill gift to Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman through the Akhaura land port in Brahmanbaria.The consignment, comprising 620 pineapples packed in 100 cartons, arrived in Bangladesh around 1:00pm on Wednesday.Officials said the Kew variety, one of Tripura’s best-known pineapples, each weighing more than one kilogramme on average, is prized for its large size, juicy flesh, and distinctive flattened shape.The handover ceremony was held at the zero line of the land port.
