Criminals have gone to some extraordinary lengths to conceal firearms, and no wonder when possession of one comes with an automatic minimum jail term of five years. Over the years, Merseyside Police has uncovered guns hidden in a wide range of unusual locations, from kitchen appliances and bedrooms to secret compartments built into walls. This week alone, two separate cases before the courts saw handguns discovered in unlikely household hiding places. In both cases, those responsible were found guilty of possession of a firearm and jailed.
