Former White Eagle site sparks thoughts of my Polish family's Chicago story

Chicago is home to one of the largest Polish populations in the world outside of Poland. That history was on display for decades in north suburban Niles, where the White Eagle Events and Convention Center served as a gathering place for Polish families after funerals, baptisms and other momentous occasions.
