Former Supreme Court Chief’s Plea Deal Could Set Precedent in Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Cases

Former Chief Justice of Ukraine’s Supreme Court Vsevolod Kniaziev has entered into a plea agreement in a landmark corruption case involving a $2.7 million bribe. Under the agreement, Kniaziev will serve five years in prison, return the bribe and donate an additional $1 million to Ukraine’s Armed Forces. The case could become a precedent for future plea agreements in high-level corruption investigations, as NABU continues to pursue cases involving senior officials and lawmakers.
