Former Mariners 4.14 ERA reliever leaves Giants for free agency
The San Francisco Giants have lost some bullpen depth from the organization. On Wednesday, a right-handed pitcher elected free agency instead of accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Sacramento. According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, Gregory Santos will become a free agent after just three Major League appearances this season with the Giants. In his second stint with San Francisco, Santos allowed two earned runs on five hits in five innings, striking out one batter in the process. The most action he's seen in the Majors was in 2023 with the Chicago White Sox, when he threw 66.1 innings for the AL Central club.
